Families with children aged four to seven will love the interactive nature of the NFU’s Discovery Barn helping youngsters to understand farming and food.
The NFU Discovery Barn will be attending the Garlic Festival, on August 17/18 – the Island’s biggest summer show that takes place annually at The Garlic Farm, Newchurch.
Isle of Wight NFU adviser Sandra Nichols says: “This travelling exhibition provides a great opportunity for youngsters to learn more about our food. There are quizzes, a roast dinner puzzle, a model dairy cow to milk and a chance to learn how tractors and technology help farmers produce food and care for the countryside. Free activity packs are also available to visiting children.”
