A message from Style of Wight Founder and Editor

Nov 10, 2020

As the Island enters its second period of lockdown, we wanted to share a personal message from our Founder and Editor.

“In over 11 years as the Island’s leading lifestyle publication, Style of Wight has always passionately championed local and independent businesses; in fact, we only accept advertising from those with a direct link to the Island.

“Celebrating our Island’s unique community spirit – particularly at this time of year, and especially in this kind of year – informs everything we do and is central to our ethos and visual identity. This year, our Christmas edition will also be available online with links to ecommerce and we have worked incredibly hard to ensure our distribution continues to reach the right audience.”

“Although it is a very difficult time for local businesses, we have a responsibility – not just to our advertisers, but to our readers and our Island community – to ensure that the Style of Wight show goes on.”

Christian Warren, founder and editor

ADDITIONAL DISTRIBUTION and PROMOTIONS

1.     Every household across the Isle of Wight

We have secured a full-page promotional advert within the Red Funnel Big book of Savings to encourage residents to view online and engage with local suppliers.

2.     Local Delivery Boxes.

Thanks to our strong links with independent local business, we have been able to temporarily tweak our distribution model and ensure readers receive a copy of Style of Wight magazine when they place an order for home delivery with the following local businesses:

The Garlic Farm

Island Meat Co.

Island Roasted Tea and Coffee

Hursts

XV Stripes

Isle of Wight Hampers

3.     Essential Stores

These activities are in addition to our usual outlets such as;

Local Flavour Co-ops across the Island

Farmer Jacks Farm Shop

Local village stores

We remain optimistic that lockdown will be lifted in time for Christmas and our usual distribution points will resume in December.
